So it's made out of crabs, you say?
I gave in an ordered the Toofutsies (sp?) yarn that is made out of chitin, which apparently comes from the shells of crabs. It's also made out of superwash wool, cotton, and soysilk (which is also a bit odd...tofu yarn...go figure).
It wasn't my fault, I swear. I was just looking for size 7 mm knitting needles which are apparently impossible to locate in local stores and difficult to find online unless you are willing to order from the UK which I normally would not mind doing except that this time I needed them fast so I could take the new cardigan kit I ordered on my trip to see my daughter and I couldn't wait for a shipment from the UK.
*whew* Say that five times real fast without taking a breath. I dare ya.
Anyway, I found the needles (by Crystal Palace) at that YarnMarket site...where they also sell the Toofutsies yarn. And...and...and....I...well, I found that resistance was futile and I was assimiliated.
Order was placed late Sunday night and the package arrived today, on Tuesday. Very fast! Maybe because of the crabs? Naw...
The yarn is very green and very pretty and soft enough that the socks should feel cozy but strong enough that they should wear well. I even got a free pattern!
Life is good. Now if only I could sleep.
